Charlie Woods is back at TPC Sawgrass. The 17-year-old will play in the Junior Players Championship this week on a sponsor exemption, one year after finishing tied for 31st in 2025.
Charlie shot 76-75-72 to finish at 7-over for the 2025 Junior Players. His final round of even-par 72 was his best score of the week, and it included a hole-in-one on the par-3 third hole at TPC Sawgrass.
Elin Woods was on site Thursday following her son, who played a practice round with TaylorMade executives.

The 20th Junior Players runs September 4-6 and features 78 juniors, including 15 ranked in the AJGA top 25. Charlie tees off Round 1 at 8:50 a.m. ET from the 10th hole.
At the U.S. Junior Amateur, he opened with a 76, followed with a 70, and lost a playoff for the final match-play spot. A similar result came at the Junior PGA Championship, where he made the 36-hole cut at 75-70 before a third-round 77 sent him home early.
At the Junior Invitational, the event known as the Junior Masters, Charlie finished last in a 36-player field, ten shots behind 35th place. His rounds of 75-76-83-80 added up to 26-over 314.

He also missed qualifying for the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills. Instead of playing at sectionals, he caddied for Miles Russell, who advanced through the qualifier.
Russell qualified for and made the cut at the U.S. Open, finishing tied for 39th. He won the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley, the same event where Charlie finished last, and was a medalist at the Western Amateur and co-medalist at the U.S. Junior Amateur. Both Charlie and Russell are verbally committed to play college golf at Florida State, part of the Seminoles’ 2027 recruiting class.
