Woods swaps a 7-wood and 2-iron in and out of the bag depending on the course, keeping the 7-wood for venues with thick rough and the 2-iron when conditions call for less spin.
On his wedge setup, Woods explained the gap wedge simply never made the jump from his junior clubs. “When I made the jump from the CBs with graphite shafts to my dad’s irons, he kinda never used a gap wedge, so it just kinda transferred,” Woods said. “Ever since I graduated to (P•7TW), I’ve never used a gap wedge since. I think that’s partially because my pitching wedge has 49 degrees of loft.”
