PGA Tour Drops ONEflight as Myrtle Beach Classic Sponsor Amid Fraud Lawsuits

The PGA Tour has cut ties with ONEflight International, the private jet company that served as co-title sponsor of the Myrtle Beach Classic. Front Office Sports first reported the split, which a PGA Tour official confirmed took effect October 15.

The move comes weeks after ONEflight abruptly halted operations and was hit with a wave of fraud lawsuits. Three federal suits filed in Colorado together allege the company is withholding at least $150 million from customers.

ONEflight, based in the Denver area, sells prepaid flight hours through jet cards and its BAJit booking app. The company does not own aircraft and arranges trips through charter operators.

On September 16, ONEflight posted a notice saying it was “pausing all flight activity for the next 30 days, or until further notice, while we conduct a comprehensive evaluation of our current operations and status.” No refunds were issued.

The lawsuits name ONEflight and its founder and CEO, Ferren Rajput. California customer Jeremy Ricks alleges he deposited $780,000 and is still owed roughly $580,000.

Ricks’ lawsuit claims the company’s conduct was “consistent with the operation of a Ponzi scheme in which new money is used to pay old obligations.” The suit also calls the practice “the hallmark of a Ponzi scheme.”

Illinois-based Five-Star Audiovisual alleges ONEflight holds $223,078 of its prepaid money. Five-Star claims the company kept asking for more right up until the shutdown.

“As recently as a week before OFI’s shutdown, its sales personnel continued to solicit Five-Star to deposit yet another $250,000 to its member account, boasting ‘funds that never expire,'” the filing states.

A third suit, filed by Kamran and Sharri Jinnah of Florida, describes nearly $750,000 in losses. It alleges ONEflight “coupled these marketing materials with direct, express representations of financial strength that were knowingly false.”

Those three are not the only cases. Private Jet Card Comparisons has reported that the number of lawsuits against ONEflight has grown to seven. The outlet also reported that the company had built up around $300 million in deferred revenue when it paused flights, based on documents it reviewed.

One week before the pause, Rajput addressed the company’s heavy discounting in an interview published September 10.

“The promotions are loss leaders, but those loss leaders drive a lot of business,” Rajput said.

None of the allegations against ONEflight or Rajput have been proven in court.

ONEflight joined Visit Myrtle Beach as co-title sponsor in February 2025 on a three-year deal. The PGA Tour event debuted in 2024 at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club.

Visit Myrtle Beach will stay on as the tournament’s sole title sponsor. Newly named tournament director Steve Mays said losing ONEflight will not affect the prize money.

“I think right now, we’re going to move forward as the Myrtle Beach Classic with Visit Myrtle Beach as our title sponsor,” Mays said. “As far as new sponsors and things like that, it’s too early to even tell about that.”

Mays said the tournament is not looking to replace lost funding but would welcome a new partner.

“We’re not necessarily looking for, you know, extra funding, but, you know, we’re always looking for ways to continue to improve the golf tournament,” Mays said.

The 2027 Myrtle Beach Classic is scheduled for May 13-16 at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club.
