Bryson DeChambeau had a media member removed from the driving range at LIV Golf Indianapolis on Wednesday, then called the reporter later that day to talk it out.
Ryan French, who runs Monday Q Info and appears on Golf Channel’s Big Break, was filming DeChambeau’s practice session when a member of DeChambeau’s team asked him to leave. Brandon Reef first reported the incident on X, describing DeChambeau as visibly upset with his swing before his team intervened, and noting French was doing nothing out of the ordinary when he was told to leave.
French confirmed the incident himself, posting that he’d been “booted off the range by Bryson.”
The removal came shortly after DeChambeau greeted a group of reporters at the range. According to GOLF senior writer Sean Zak, DeChambeau spotted three reporters, including Zak, and said: “Oooh the mafia has arrived. The mafia. You guys love talking s**t.” Zak said DeChambeau remains frustrated with how his comments have been quoted and contextualized in recent months.

Hours later, DeChambeau called French directly. French said the two spoke for about 20 minutes and that he appreciated the call, adding that a lot of players wouldn’t have done that.
DeChambeau has not commented publicly on the incident.
The exchange comes during a turbulent stretch for LIV Golf. The league’s season was expected to close with a team championship in Michigan, but that event was canceled, moving the finale to The Club at Chatham Hills outside Indianapolis. Jon Rahm has already clinched the individual title for a third straight season, while DeChambeau is in position to finish second.
